BMW ujawniło paczkę stylizacyjną M Sport, wersję wysokoprężną 640d oraz wariant 650i xDrive z oferowanym po raz pierwszy w "Szóstce", opcjonalnym napędem na wszystkie cztery koła (dostępny tylko w najmocniejszym coupe i kabriolecie). BMW 640d napędzane jest 3-litrowym R6 z podwójnym doładowaniem rozwijającym 313 KM i 630 Nm. Auto rozpędza się do setki w 5,5 sekundy i ma spalać średnio 5,4-5,5 l/100km (kabriolet o 0,2 litra więcej). Coupe 650i xDrive rozwija setkę w 4,8 sekund, czyli o 0,1 sekundy mniej, niż wersja z napędem tylko na przód.
